Why You Do Not Need Detox Diets

by admin on June 1, 2010

There is no shortage of reasons why you need detox diets to lose weight and improve your overall health. Diet experts are tripping over themselves to tell us that detox diets can help us quickly lose a few pounds and help our bodies get rid of harmful toxins, but not all diet gurus agree. A number of prominent certified nutritionists, for example, have recently voiced their concerns about what they see as an overuse and sometimes a misuse of popular detox diets.

Personally, assuming you are using a quality detox diet, I do not think there is a cause for concern, but lately I have been asking myself if we really need detox diets at all. In other words, is it possible to lose weight and improve our health without various detox diets and cleanses? As it turns out, the answer is yes, and here is how.

First of all, if you are in good general health, not overweight and do not need to lose weight, you do not need any diets at all. Keep doing what you are doing, because it is obviously working for you. Second, if you need to lose a few pounds and get in shape, all you need to do is to find a balanced diet that you can follow for an extended time. In fact, you should not think about it as a diet at all, think of it as an improvement over your old and not very exciting eating habits.

Third, forget about quick fixes that often promise incredible results. They never work long term and might have unpleasant side effects. Instead, put together a balanced diet that consists of organic vegetables, fruits, grass-fed proteins, fish, and whole grains. Do not be afraid of complex carbohydrates that supply your body with fiber and other important nutrients.

Last but definitely not least, if you want to be in top shape, you need to be active. Now, many people seem to think that staying active means going to the gym at least three times a week, but it is a myth that you need to have an elaborate exercise program to maintain great physique. It does not take much to keep your body in good health. Go for a hike, take stairs whenever you can, ride a bicycle, walk to the store instead of driving, clean your house – in short, use your imagination, it really does not take much to stay active.

Total Cleanse Guide and Information

by ChangeYourLife on January 6, 2010

People these days are starting to take notice about all the artificial and processed chemicals that are commonly found in our foods and beverages. The problem comes with the fact that most people don’t notice this until too late and are extremely overweight, in poor health, in dealing with all sorts of ailments and diseases. But even though this is more often the case, there is still plenty of steps that can be taken to reverse virtually every problem related to what’s listed above. People are starting to look outside of the traditional healthy diet and traditional exercise so that they can increase the overall potency of those two things to help improve their overall health, lose weight, and clean up their body; this is where following a total cleanse guide or similar detox program come into play because it is these methods and practices that allow us to not only lose weight but clean up our bodies and improve our digestive system performance.

A typical total cleanse diet consists of mostly organic and raw natural foods, this is the case whether you get it in juice form or you get it through fiber rich smoothies. When you get this in juice form, the nutrients tend to be the most bioavailable and go right into your bloodstream and dust throughout your body, the only downside to this form of cleansing is the fact that there’s no fiber, so if you decide to go this method make sure you’re getting your fiber from other sources. If you decide to go with the smooth route, some of the nutrients may not pass on white as well as they would in juice form but you’re still getting quite a bit of nutrients as well’s the added benefit of all that fiber which helps improve digestion. My suggestion would be to try to incorporate both styles of cleansing into your daily routine and you’ll likely get the best results.
