Losing Weight With HCG Drops

by admin on August 13, 2010

The HCG diet is a rapidly growing diet in the US. The diet originally started with injections but with medical science it is now possible to take them in drops. The HCG drops are usually only found online to purchase but in rare cases you can find them in your local health food store.

The HCG diet is only tailored for people that need to lose a large amount weight quickly. It is only for people that are considered to be obese and need to get the weight off because of health problems. Other types of people can take the HCG drops and do the diet even if they don’t have any immediate health risks but should still be under supervision of a medical doctor.

Knowing Your Body Before Dieting

The HCG diet with the drops does have some restrictions. Anybody that chooses to go on the diet with the drops must know that they will have to be on a 500 calorie diet. The HCG does curve your appetite so you are able to only eat the 500 calories. While on the diet you are still encouraged to exercise on a daily basis so you once you go off the drops you are not prone to gain the weight back so quickly. The diet is only for 40 days and then you must go off the drops for 40 days. In the 40 days many HCG clinics guarantee that you will lose 40 pounds in that time frame if you do it according to their guidelines.

One of the biggest guidelines is that you may also have to take certain supplements such as an omegas and DHA since you won’t be able to eat as much food you do still need to take in your vitamins some how. Going through a HCG clinic would be the best choice since you will be under the direct care of a medical doctor that can track your progress or take you off if you are having any type of bad reactions to the diet or the drops.

How Important Is Aerobic Exercise?

by admin on April 7, 2010

You have undoubtedly heard that you should get some form of aerobic exercise if you want to burn fat and keep it off.  Aerobic exercise helps speed up the metabolism which is directly linked to burning fat and losing weight.  The burning questions (no pun intended) are how much aerobic exercise should you do, how hard should you work out and what kind of exercise should you do?

How Much Aerobic Exercise Do You Need?

Losing weight and keeping it off is no small job.  If you goal is to lose weight then plan on setting aside a minimum 50 minutes each week.  I’m saying this is the minimum but many of you reading this will need to do more, up to as much as an hour and fifteen minutes.  If you need to take a break, no problem, just remember that you need at least ten minutes of uninterrupted time of aerobics to get the metabolic effect.

How Hard Should You Work Out?

To achieve the best cardiovascular condition and retain the least amount of fat you want the most aerobic exercise in the shortest period of time.  Some people will warn that if you engage in a high-intensity aerobic workout that your body will burn more carbohydrates than stored body fat.  It really doesn’t matter whether you burn more carbohydrates than fat as long as you get that metabolic rate up which helps to burn those calories all day long.  Work out hard enough to get yourself in the zone.  The zone is described as deep breathing, fatigue but you can still have a conversation and finish the session at that pace.  Make sure you get clearance from a physician if you have health problems.

What Kind Of Exercises Should You Do?

The more highly aerobic the exercises are the better.  Highly aerobic exercise helps your body produce aerobic enzymes and guess what these do?  These enzymes help you burn fat quicker.

  • Jogging
  • Aerobic or Cardio Dancing
  • Stair Climbing
  • Power walking
