How to lose belly fat and change your life

by admin on March 4, 2010

This post will try to explain how to lose belly fat and change your life. Although these terms seem not to be related, if you can manage to get rid of fat in the belly area your life can literally change. People who suffer from this problem usually have low self esteem and confidence. They feel that they cannot deal with this problem because it is not easy to do and this affects other aspects of their daily life as well.

The first thing you need to understand is that there are no magic ways to lose belly fat. It is something that needs a lot of time and hard work and it is normal to face obstacles, problems and failures in the process. You cannot lose belly fat overnight and you may need to try more than one times until you get the results you want.

The way to deal with fat in the belly area is by concentrating on what you eat and how you exercise. By taking care of your diet you will ensure that the problem will not become worse and by exercise you can start fighting and eliminating fat. Let’s see these two factors in a bit more detail.

Going after a diet that is fat friendly includes a number of things. First you need to drink a lot of water. Water will keep hunger away and at the same time will help your body flush away unnecessary toxins and substances. You also need to be careful on what you eat on a daily basis. Foods that are high in saturated fats and sugars should be removed from your diet and replaced with food that can help you reduce fat (like black chocolate, nuts, apples, apricots). Fruits and vegetables are also good candidates because they are full of fiber and vitamins, substances essential for a normal and healthy body functioning.

When it comes to exercise, the key to lose fat is to exercise on a daily basis. Repetition and increased frequency of various types of exercises can break up the fat modules so that your body can use them for energy. You need to work patiently and by continuously increasing the intensity of your exercise sessions. Your goal is to put your body under pressure so that it will require more energy to cope with the increase demands. If at the same time you are following a proper diet this extra energy will be acquired from the fat reserves. Any type of exercise can be beneficial for fat loss but some experts suggest that exercises like rope jumping, cycling, swimming and squats can give you better results.

So, if you want to change your life and be in position to lose the fat from the belly area and at the same time improve your appearance and self esteem, you need to adopt a healthy diet and you need to incorporate exercise in your daily schedule. These two factors powered by willpower and positive thinking will drive you to the results you want.

Setting Fitness Goals in the New Year

by admin on January 3, 2010

Being physically fit and having an attractive body is something that most people would be proud of.  If this is something that you are aspiring too, the first thing you should do is set a fitness goal for yourself.  When setting a fitness goal for yourself, you have to make sure that you are fair to yourself and realistic.  If you want to lose thirty-five pounds by summer and the summer is seven weeks away, it is safe to say that you are not being realistic.
You have to start out small and then as your progress you can make your goal higher.  If it is your goal to lose weight by the summer, then start off by saying that you are going to attend one aerobics class a week and walk one night after dinner.  If you manage to do this for a week or two, then you can increase the amount of classes or the nights that you walk.

Try doing it with a friend.  If you set fitness goals with a friend, the chances are greater that you will stick with it.  Friends motivate each other and you are less likely to cancel when a friend is involved.

Once you have set your goals you need to write everything down.  Writing everything down makes it a “to do” list.  You feel more compelled to do something when it is written down.  Writing your goals down also gives you something to work towards.

Don’t give yourself something to do every day.  Give yourself something to do every other day.  This will give you a break and it will not seem so much like a chore.  You will actually start to look forward to your walk or your exercise class.

Lastly, eat well and do not overindulge.  Once your goals are set, a healthy diet will help speed up the results.  Once you start noticing a difference you will become more motivated to get out there and not only reach your fitness goals, but surpass them.
