About Mini Dental Implants

When researching options for dental implants, you may have found the option of mini dental implants as a likely candidate for you.  This can be a great option for denture stabilization, in addition to it being a wonderful alternative to traditional forms of implants for your dental needs.  You may have found that if you have dentures, they are not fitting as tightly as they used to, moving while you are trying to talk or eat; mini denture implants are a way to stabilize the dentures you currently have.  It is important to know how mini denture implants would work for you, no matter what purpose you may need them for: a whole set of teeth, individual tooth implants, or denture stabilization.  Always be aware of scams that may offer you free dental implants but then have hidden fees.

The implant itself is a titanium rod, a metal that you body does not reject.  This titanium rod is one single piece that has a little ball on one end and a screw on the other.  The dentures or veneers are then fitted with a small hole to fit the small ball on the tiny rod.  The mini dental implant also features an O-ring that allows your dentures to stay tight while eating or talking, however, with some additional pressure the dentures can easily be removed.  Of course, if you are getting an individual tooth replaced, you would want it to be a permanent part of your mouth, so it would not be fitted for you to be able to remove it.

These dental implants are considered mini because of their size being at least half of the traditional type and they are less expensive than the traditional dental implant prices. Traditional implants range in size between four to five and three-quarter millimeters, while mini implants measure in at just about two millimeters.  The mini size of these dental implants make it easier for your dentist to get into the smaller areas of your mouth to ensure that the implant is secure.    For this reason, these mini dental implants have become popular for replacing individual teeth that may become damaged or corroded.
