Vitamin A and Vitamin E
While not causes of acne directly, a diet low in Vitamin A and Vitamin E can in fact trigger the skin disease. Those with low amounts of both of these vitamins are far more likely to develop acne than those with higher amounts.
The Hygiene Myth
Poor hygiene is not one of the causes of acne. The plugs that cause acne are formed far too deeply under the skin for even the most well groomed person to wash away. Washing your face can help unclog your pores, but someone who washed their face meticulously can still develop acne.
