Fat Burning Treadmill Workout

Using a treadmill as a weight loss tool is a great way to burn stored fat. Treadmills offer a low impact great cardio workout and if used right you can burn fat fast and efficient. One of the secret weight loss weapons of any good electric treadmill is the incline feature. Too many people get in the habit running at a steady pace and a flat incline and this lack of a challenge actually limits weight loss. If you are just starting out, check with your doctor before you begin any exercise regime

The truth is the body only burns fat when the exercise is intense enough to challenge it. Do not make the mistake time for quality. Many people spend countless hours running on their treadmill but don’t see results. The average person burns around 100 calories a mile regardless of whether they walk or run, whether it’s quickly or slowly. The trick is you need to alternate intensities (high and low) to maximize fat burn.

To achieve weight loss on a treadmill and to be sure you are maximizing fat loss, you need to be in your ideal heart range. This is typically 50-70% of your maximum heart rate.

Here is a killer fat burning workout that will burn excess body fat like crazy:

  • Stretch for at least 5 minutes
  • Warm up for a minute or two
  • Jump on the treadmill and kick it up to a speed you feel comfortable speed walking or jogging at
  • Maintain this speed for 2 minutes
  • Increase speed by 4 miles faster a minute
  • Drop the speed down for a mile
  • Turn speed up 3 miles for a minute
  • Repeat these last few steps for 20 minutes
  • Stretch for 5 minutes

You will find by the end of your workout you are sweating, tired, and lean. This workout will turn your compact treadmill into a fat burning machine. Set the incline as high as it can go for an extra challenge and major fat loss.
