Losing weight is no big deal, it can easily be achieved with a little bit of effort and self restraint. Effort for a couple of month and self-restraint to avoid junk food for a while.
But to lose belly fat is much more difficult. I lost 14 pounds over 5 months and I still have some belly fat. So how to lose belly fat? In order to lose the belly fat you need a sustained effort and far more self-restraint. The problem is that you can’t focus your energy on getting rid on that specific part of your body. You need to keep losing weight until your body decides to eliminate that fat deposit. And that can take a while.
ABS Exercises
Don’t get fooled by those workout programs that promise you a six-pack in a few months. It is impossible, no matter how much you push yourself. There is no point in doing only abs exercising, you will only pump your abs muscles but they will still be hidden behind your beer belly. A total body workout is more efficient if your goal is a six-pack. Everyone has beautiful abs, but they are covered by fat.
Marathon Approach
You need to look at this process the same way you would a marathon. In a marathon you won’t sprint at the beginning, you will pace yourself to be able to finish the race. Losing belly fat is a long process and you need to be prepared to endure it for a long period of time. You will need to think about the nutritional aspect as a lifestyle change, you will need to change your habits, not diet for a short period of time. By changing your eating habits with new, healthy ones and incorporating a daily exercising routine you will be able to reach your goals. You will also gain additional benefits, like increased energy levels throughout the day, better health and a stronger body. And yes you will look good too.
