How to Make Your Treadmill Workout Fun Again

You start every day with a long treadmill workout? Great! You probably already know the many benefits such a healthy lifestyle brings. But everyone who uses their treadmill on a daily basis for more than one month also knows the downsides: boredom and monotony, maybe even frustration. You keep running but you never reach a destination like you would if you ran outdoors. But deep down you love your treadmill and you’re committed to your healthy lifestyle. But don’t worry: there are some simple things you can do to make it fun again!

1) Go for some outdoor running.
Just get out and run! I know that there are reasons that you normally use the treadmill, but just try it for two weeks! What you need is a break from your electric treadmill, when you get back to it you will appreciate it more than before and your treadmill workout will be fun again. Just switch things up for some weeks and when you get back, the motivation will be back too. Alternatively you can join a gym or participate in other outdoor sports like walking, swimming or tennis.

2) Play with the pace.
Just be playful! Don’t take your workout too serious. Mix up the pace and try to relax. Don’t focus on working out; focus on having fun. This isn’t about calories or fat or all the things you normally relate to working out. Just have some fun. It will also reduce your stress level.

3) Move to another room.
Move your treadmill to another room. This will automatically change your whole workout experience. You will feel reenergized and have fun again. Some treadmills are huge and not easy to move, but there are also small treadmills that you can move every week. So just go ahead and find a new room. Maybe move it to the garden or your kids’ room and watch them play, or move it to the living room and watch TV with your husband.
