Introducing Laser Liposuction

Laser liposuction is a relatively new treatment that has been designed to remove small pockets of fatty tissue from areas that regular exercise and a strict diet have not been able to tone.

The procedure is ideal for getting rid of stubborn fatty deposits in areas like beneath the chin, the jowls and neck, the face and the arms and it’s also good for reducing the size of male breasts. The technique involves a process by which the patient’s fat cells are lased through a small incision made in the skin and are thereby heated to such an extent that they swell up and eventually burst. The liquefied, or emulsified, fatty tissue is then either removed from the area with the help of a small suction device or is left in the body to be absorbed naturally and then expelled through the liver.

Laser liposuction has proven to be more popular for removing small and stubborn fatty deposits than traditional lipo techniques as the former procedure is far quicker and can be performed under local anesthetic. It has, however, been found to work better on those people who are only slightly overweight, who are fairly fit and who subscribe to a regular exercise routine and a nutritional diet.

This procedure also has fewer side effects than traditional lipo surgery, and less bruising and swelling are seen as local blood vessels are cauterized during the treatment with the result that excess bleeding is contained. Patients will experience a certain amount of soreness, and light bruising, but should be able to resume normal activities – except major physical exercise – within a day or two.

Given all its advantages, it’s safe to say that laser liposuction is the face of the future and will only become more popular as time goes by.
