Relaxation Techniques Can Keep You Healthier

You’ve heard it many times, “Relax! Take a deep breath.” Well, deep breathing can actually help you to relax and can also help you to be healthier. When you take a few deep breaths in a row you are actually causing physical changes in your body. Deep breathing quickly brings more oxygen into your system and begins to bring balance to your acid/alkaline levels in your body immediately. As you exhale deeply you release much of the carbon dioxide from your body, so just by adding a few more molecules of oxygen, you begin a chain of events that can make you healthier.

One of these changes is that by balancing the acid/alkaline level (pH level) you are creating a system where disease causing organisms do not grow or reproduce well. They seem to prefer a higher level of acid to continue with their disease causing agenda; so, merely breathing deeply and exhaling deeply 3-5 times in a row a few times a day can keep you healthier and keep you more relaxed.

When more oxygen is introduced into your system it begins to oxidize stored fat so that it breaks down faster, and many people could benefit from less fat. Too much fat stores in all of the wrong places, such as around the organs, so that they have to work harder to do the work that they are meant to do. Again, just the relaxation technique of deep breathing can keep you healthier, by balancing your pH levels and helping to break down fat, but there is more….

As you use relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing, listening to soft music, taking a walk outside in a beautiful place, etc. your blood vessels, and muscles that squeeze them, also relax so that blood is pumped more easily through blood vessels that are not tightened from stress. In the relaxed state high blood pressure can become more normal.

If relaxation techniques were practiced more often, perhaps there would be no high blood pressure. We tend to live in an extremely stressful world. We seem to be stressed when we get up in the morning, all day long, and when we go to bed at night. Then we wonder why we feel so bad all of the time, and why we keep gaining weight, and why we have high blood pressure.

Physically, chemical changes take place to improve your health when you practice relaxation techniques; so, it is very important to use them daily to help you with stress relief and to maintain a more relaxed state so that you can be healthier in your stress-filled world.
