If you want to learn how to jump higher you need to take notes from the best jumpers that exists, beach volleyball players. Have you ever seen any athletes in better shape than beach volleyball players? This is because training in the sand is the best form of cardio and weight loss that you will ever find. I worked as a personal trainer for a few years and I have always loved sand volleyball. I could easily run a 6 minute mile on a treadmill and not even break a sweat but just playing for 6 minutes in the sand and I would be exhausted.
The human body gets used to the same old things and you have to keep changing things up. This is why you want to do sand training. You are bare foot so you don’t run into the problems that come with shoes, such as too much hill striking, shin splints and other foot problems. Shoes should be avoided whenever possible because they don’t help with knee problems or back problems.
If you do little sprints of only 6 steps in sand, you will be getting a better workout than a lap around a regular track where you would just be walking. There is nothing better in terms of weight loss. A great workout is the following:
- Sprint 6 steps
- Jump as High as you can
- Run backwards 6 steps
- Do 2 fast jumps
This little combination can be done as many times as you can do it. You will be surprised that this little plyometric workout that sounds so simple is actually very difficult and you may only be able to do it once. That’s okay, you will working out your body in an entirely new way and you will see results because of it. Keep your workouts new and exciting so that you will love to exercise each day.
