Have you ever thought making your own carrot juice? Carrot juice is an excellent choice for those who like a sweet tasting juice, but who prefer for whatever reason to avoid fruit juices. Carrots and other root vegetables are known to contain a fair bit of sugar and are not usually considered to be low GI, but they are definitely containing less sugar than your average bought glass of orange or apple or mango juice, so carrot juice is definitely something to consider for its known health benefits.
Carrots contain a lot of beta carotene which has many good things to contribute to your overall health, as beta carotene converts in your body to vitamin A, which is not easily found in other vegetables or fruits. It also contains vitamin C, folic acid, vitamin B6 and other goodies that you can’t afford to miss! Since raw carrots are used in the making of a carrot juice, the juice is a living source of digestion-assisting enzymes and the vitamins make it into the juice intact because they are not affected with heat from cooking.
This brings us to juicers. What is a carrot juicer? A carrot juicer is any juicer which can juice the carrot, a hard vegetable that won’t be handled the same by all juicers. For instance, carrots may not be juiced as well with a centrifugal juicer as they are with a masticating juicer, because the masticating juicer has the ability to “chew up” the carrot, whereas the centrifugal juicer relies on high power and speed, which may be impaired by heavy chunks of carrot inside its drum at the time of juicing.
As most people are not after solely carrot juice, but invest in a juicer machine to make several kinds of juice including apple, celery, orange etc, a carrot juicer would be considered any machine which effectively juices carrots as well as other fruits and vegetables. Carrots make an excellent health boosting juice.
